Agraulis vanillae (aka Gulf Fritillary, Passion Butterfly and Silver-Spotted Flambeau) can be found all around the Gulf of Mexico. The larvae feed exclusively on the Passion Flower vines, hence one of the names This specimen was recorded on St. John, U. S. Virgin Islands in Virgin Islands National Park.
