Giant, twin flower stalks of the False Agave or Mauritius Hemp (Furcraea foetida) overlook Magen's Bay from Drake's Seat on St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands. These plants are similar to agave in that after they bloom they die. Species is endemic to the Caribbean.
